To maintain a harmonious camp environment, all members must understand the responsibility tied to recommending/vouching for others.
Vouching is not casual and comes with accountability for the behavior and impact of those you bring into the camp. You are not just giving them an invitation; you are ensuring that they align with our camp's values and will contribute positively.
Responsibilities
- Chain of Responsibility
- When you vouch for someone, you’re taking responsibility for their actions and how they contribute to the camp dynamic. It means you have taken the time to ensure they align with our values, understand the culture, and will contribute positively.
- If they bring in others, you’re also accountable for their behavior. So don’t take this lightly, as it reflects on your judgement.
- Communication and Transparency
- When you recommend someone, please give a short intro to let the camp leads know their relation to you and provide a brief background on them. This gives us context.
- Vouching vs Casual Mentions
- Vouching for someone is different from casually suggesting someone. If you merely mention someone as a potential fit for the camp, you will not need to take responsibility for them. Make sure you communicate that clearly to the camp leads.
- Avoiding Problematic Situations
- If someone you vouch for brings additional stress or creates tension within the group, it is essential to address the issue swiftly and constructively. You will be involved in resolving any issues tied to your recommendation.
