Trash / Dump Rules

• There is NO COMMUNAL TRASH CAN.
• The camp dump is ONLY for the kitchen and shared camp infrastructure.
• MOOP and TRASH is ALL “PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT”.
• Everything needs to leave the Playa with us, full stop!
• Burner Express Bus has space for 2-3 bags of trash per passenger.
  • DO NOT not leave your trash bags on the bus! Take your trash off the bus and dispose properly.
• DO NOT THROW ANY TRASH ON THE ROAD BACK TO RENO
  • Trash must be taken back to Reno and dispose of it properly.
  • This last point is critical for Burning Man to continue as an event in Nevada.

MOOP = Matter Out Of Place.

• Anything not originally of the Playa and therefore things that should not be left on The Playa when we leave.
• Trash generated by campers during the burn is a big source of MOOP.
• Everyone is responsible for their own MOOP: both collecting it and bringing it out with them when they leave at the end of the burn.

Recyclable MOOP

• Aluminum cans can be recycled at Center Camp.
• Crush aluminum cans.
• NOT tin cans, soup cans, tuna cans, etc
