• Prohibited:
  • Generators (RV or standalone)
  • Traditional AC’s (except inside RVs)
  • Microwaves, hair dryers, heaters, refrigerators, freezers or other high power drawing appliances.
  • Open flames
  • Stockpiling fuel or gas
• Allowed:
  • Swamp cooler (manual-fill only, no hose hookups due to leak risk)
• Required:
  • Each camper must bring a 50-ft grounded, outdoor-rated extension cord (14 AWG or greater) – e.g. this one
  • Daily maintenance: Generators down 8–9am

Showers

Full Guideline: Showers

• 10 minutes total per camper for the whole Burn (unless you’re Build Week)
  • Split however you want (e.g., 10 × 1-min or 1 × 10-min)
• Washing long hair discouraged – use a bucket or find a shampoo camp
• Soap: Castile / biodegradable / low foam only (e.g., Dr. Bronners)
• DO NOT:
  • Lose your wristband
  • Pee in the showers
  • Brush teeth in the showers

Grey Water Disposal

• No tooth-brushing at water bottle station
• Disposal options:
  • Spit into a ziplock bag
  • Spit onto a used baby wipe and place at top of trash (to dry out)
• Never dump gray water:
  • In portos
  • On playa

Private Porto

Full Guideline:Private Porto

• Allowed:
  • Human waste
  • One-ply toilet paper only
• Not Allowed:
  • Tampons
  • Trash of any kind
  • Hand wipes / baby wipes
  • Grey water (see Gray Water Disposal)
• Reminders:
  • “If it wasn’t made by your body, don’t put it in the potty!”
  • Always put the lid down to reduce odors

Camp Kitchen

Full Guideline:Camp Kitchen

• There is NO DISHWASHING at camp
  • To eat without needing to wash your dish:
    • Cover your plate in paper foil and then toss it.
    • Lick it clean and then use a sprayer with water and vinegar to wet it, and wipe with paper tower.
