- Prohibited:
- Generators (RV or standalone)
- Traditional AC’s (except RV)
- Microwaves, hair dryers, heaters, refrigerators, freezers or other high power drawing appliances.
- Open flames
- Stockpiling fuel or gas
- Allowed:
- Swamp cooler (no hose hookups / manual-fill only, because of leak risk).
- Each camper is required to bring their own 50-foot grounded outdoor-rated extension cord of 14 wire gauge or greater to extend power into their own tent. Like this one.
- For 2025, the allotment per camper for the duration of the Burn is 10 minutes.
- Allocate this time as you’d like.
- For example, you can take as many as ten 1 minute showers or as few as one 10 minute shower.
- Washing long hair NOT recommended! Use a bucket, or find a shampoo camp (there are several).
- ONLY bring Castille soap or other biodegradable, low foam soap/body wash. Otherwise the suds will become a nightmare.
- PLEASE don't lose your wristband!
- NO PEEING IN THE SHOWERS
- Campers can brush their teeth at the sink/water bottle filling station, the gray water will go down the drain into the shower drain bin.
- This is the ONLY acceptable repository for grey water.
- Do NOT dump it in the portos
- Allowed in porto:
- Human waste.
- one-ply toilet paper (2-ply or other kinds of toilet paper damages USS servicing equipment).
- NOT Allowed in porto:
- Tampons
- Trash
- Hand wipes, baby wipes
- Anything other than human waste and one-ply toilet paper.
- Grey water: doing so will fill them up much faster than normal, making for nasty toilets. For proper disposal of your grey water, see Gray Water Disposal
- IF IT WASN’T MADE BY YOUR BODY, DON’T PUT IT IN THE POTTY!!
- Put the toilet lid down when you’re done, as it helps keep odors under control.
- There is NO DISHWASHING at camp
- To eat without needing to wash your dish:

- There is NO COMMUNAL TRASH CAN.
- The camp dump is ONLY for the kitchen and shared camp infrastructure.
- MOOP and TRASH is ALL “PACK IT IN, PACK IT OUT”.
- Everything needs to leave the Playa with us, full stop!
- Burner Express Bus has space for 2-3 bags of trash per passenger.
- DO NOT not leave your trash bags on the bus! Take your trash off the bus and dispose properly.
- DO NOT THROW ANY TRASH ON THE ROAD BACK TO RENO
- Trash must be taken back to Reno and dispose of it properly.
- This last point is critical for Burning Man to continue as an event in Nevada.
